Kabul Medical University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Kabul Medical University is a public medical university in Afghanistan, and it suits students who want professional training in health fields rather than a broad multi-subject university. It is a coeducational institution with instruction in Dari and Pashto, with many medical terms used in English.

  2. What you can study

Students can study Curative Medicine, Pediatric, Stomatology, Dental, and Nursing. Two additional departments, Medical Technology and Anesthesia, were added in 2012. The university’s main focus is medical and health training.

  3. Getting in

The university’s admissions process for international students is not detailed here, so check the official website and admissions office for entry requirements, document lists, deadlines, and whether your previous qualifications are accepted. Because it is a public university in Kabul, applicants should also confirm the current application route and any language expectations before applying.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a tuition fee range for international students; confirm the current rate with its admissions office. Living costs in Kabul will depend on housing, transport, food, and personal spending, so check current local costs before you decide.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is Dari and Pashto, and most medical terms are in English. A student applying from abroad should confirm whether language support is available, what level of Dari or Pashto is expected, and whether their documents need translation or formal certification.

  6. How it compares

Afghanistan has 40 universities, and Kabul Medical University sits among them as a specialist public medical institution rather than a general university. If you want a focused path into medicine and allied health fields, it is more targeted than a broad-based institution.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
