Hokkaido Tokai University: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Hokkaido Tokai University was a public university in Japan with campuses in Hokkaido, and it is now part of Tokai University as the Hokkaido campuses. It suits a student who wants to understand a university that formerly offered a small range of study areas and should now confirm current options through Tokai University.

  2. What you can study

The only programme specifically listed is 看護学研究科. The university was associated with the School of Engineering, the School of International Cultural Relations, and the School of Art and Technology before the 2008 merger into Tokai University; the current programme catalogue should be confirmed with Tokai University because the university no longer operates separately.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the current Tokai University channels, since Hokkaido Tokai University merged into Tokai University in 2008. Check the official Tokai University website for the current application route, entry requirements, document deadlines, and any campus-specific instructions for the former Hokkaido campuses.

  4. What it costs

A tuition fee is not published in the available information, so confirm the current rate with Tokai University admissions. Living costs in Hokkaido will depend on the city, housing, transport, and daily spending, so check current estimates separately before applying.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not published, so confirm this directly with Tokai University before applying. For a move from abroad, check the current campus location, the programme you want to study, document requirements, visa support, and whether the former Hokkaido campuses still offer the course you need.

  6. How it compares

Japan has 571 universities, so this institution sits in a very large national system. Its distinguishing points are its former two-campus structure in Hokkaido and its merger into Tokai University, which means applicants should compare it less as an independent university and more as part of Tokai University’s current Hokkaido presence.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
