Osaka University of Education is a public university in Japan. It suits applicants who want to study in Japan and need a profile that is currently limited to basic institutional details before choosing a programme.
The universityโs subject areas and programme list are not published in the information available here, so the programme catalogue still needs to be checked on the official website. For study options, confirm the current faculties, departments, and degree programmes directly with the university.
International applicants should use the official website and admissions office to confirm the application route, entry requirements, deadlines, and any document checks that apply to overseas students. If a programme has its own admissions page, check that page as well before applying.
The university does not publish a tuition fee range in the information available here; confirm the current fee with its admissions office. Budget separately for living costs in Japan, which will depend on housing, transport, and daily expenses.
The language of instruction is not published here, so confirm it before applying. Also check whether the programme accepts international applicants, what documents are required, whether you need a visa, and how the university handles housing and arrival support.
Japan has 571 universities, so this institution sits in a very large higher-education system. As a public university, it may appeal to applicants who want a straightforward state university option, but you should compare it on programme availability, admissions rules, and fees rather than assume more from the name alone.
Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them โ always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.

The University of Osaka , abbreviated as UOsaka or Handai (้ชๅคง), is a national research university in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The university traces its roots back to Edo-era institutions Tekijuku (1838) and Kaitokudo (1724), and was officially established in 1931 as the sixth of the Imperial Universities in Japan, with two faculties: science and medicine. Following the post-war educational reform, it merged with three pre-war higher schools, reorganizing as a comprehensive university with five faculties: science, medicine, letters, law and economics, and engineering. After the merger with Osaka University of Foreign Studies in 2007, UOsaka became the largest national university in Japan by undergraduate enrollment. The official name of the university in English has been changed from "Osaka University" to "The University of Osaka (UOsaka)" as of April 2025.
