Bergen Community College: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Bergen Community College is a public community college in the United States that serves students in Bergen County, New Jersey. It suits applicants who want degree study in a multi-campus setting with undergraduate and graduate options, and who are checking whether a community college structure fits their plans.

  2. What you can study

You can study across 17 programmes at bachelorโ€™s and masterโ€™s level. Examples include International Relations and Diplomacy, International Business, International Hospitality and Tourism Management, International Marketing, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, Global Finance, Sustainability Management, Data Science, and an MBA. If you are comparing subjects, check the current programme list on the university website because only the named examples are visible here.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the universityโ€™s admissions process and check the official website for entry requirements, deadlines, documents, and any country-specific instructions. If you need a visa, confirm the documents the university issues for admitted students and whether your chosen programme has any additional requirements.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a tuition fee range for international students; confirm the current rate with its admissions office. As in most places, you should also budget separately for housing, food, transport, books, and personal expenses in New Jersey.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated, so confirm it before applying. Also check whether your programme is offered at the Paramus, Hackensack, or Lyndhurst campus, what support is available for students arriving from abroad, and what documents you need for study, visa, and enrolment.

  6. How it compares

In the United States, Bergen Community College sits within a very large higher-education system of 2,515 universities. What sets it apart is that it is public, has three named campuses, and offers both bachelorโ€™s and masterโ€™s degrees, so it is not just a short-cycle institution; it also has a wider programme range than many people expect from a community college.
