Henry Ford College: the applicant's brief

6 findings
  1. The short answer

Henry Ford College is a public community college in Dearborn, Michigan, and it suits students who want a U.S. public institution with a small published programme set. It also offers both bachelor’s and master’s degree levels, so it can work for applicants looking beyond the usual two-year college path.

  2. What you can study

You can study across 19 published programmes, including Accountancy, Anthropology, Archaeological Studies, Art, Biology, Food & Nutrition Sciences, Nurse Anesthesia, Business Administration, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Communication Studies, and Cybersecurity. The institution also lists bachelor’s and master’s degree levels, so applicants can check the current catalogue for which subjects are open at each level.

  3. Getting in

International applicants should apply through the university’s official admissions process and check entry requirements on the website, especially any country-specific document, English language, and programme requirements. The university does not publish all admission details in the information available here; confirm deadlines, required forms, and any transfer or credential evaluation steps with the admissions office.

  4. What it costs

The university does not publish a tuition fee range for international students here, so confirm the current rate with its admissions office. Living costs in Dearborn will depend on housing, transport, food, and personal spending, so budget separately for those.

  5. Coming from abroad

The language of instruction is not stated, so confirm it before applying if you need proof for a visa or admissions file. Also check whether your chosen programme has extra requirements, what documents must be translated or evaluated, and how the college handles international student support and visa paperwork.

  6. How it compares

Among 2,515 universities in the United States, Henry Ford College stands out less for size and more for its public community-college structure and the relatively specific set of 19 published programmes. That makes it a narrower, more targeted option than a large multi-faculty university, which can suit students who already know the subject area they want.

Written from this university's catalogue entry and its cited encyclopedia summary. Figures are only shown where the institution or a cited source publishes them — always confirm fees and entry requirements with the university itself before applying.
